Profile

Stefano Capezzone is an entrepreneur, lecturer and innovation manager with over thirty years of experience in the ICT sector and Artificial Intelligence, specialized in cybersecurity, mission critical projects and digital transformation of large organizations. He is CEO and Founder of Fastal Srl, a holding company through which he leads the development of high-tech solutions, products and services, and investment projects in innovative entrepreneurial initiatives.

Current Role

Since 2008, he has been Founding Partner and Director of Fastal Srl, a consulting, training and software development company through which he coordinates the growth of new high-tech enterprises and initiatives in digital services and telecommunications. Under his strategic direction, several companies have been established and developed, focused on creating innovative products in gaming, telecommunications networks, electronic payments and value-added services.

Since 2015, he has been involved in trade union representation activities, currently serving as President of the Communication and Services Union of CNA Roma, with responsibility for the association's strategic development and coordination of projects supporting digital, printing and communication businesses. He is a delegate to the Smart City Lab Advisory Board of the City of Rome, contributing to the definition of policies and initiatives for urban innovation and smart services development.

Entrepreneurial and Managerial Experience

Throughout his career, he has led capital raising and private equity operations, accompanying several technology companies through growth paths, market positioning and exits for investors. With Blu Sistemi S.p.A., between 2008 and 2011, he contributed to the release of highly innovative products that enabled the company to become a leader in highly specialized niches related to new technologies.

Between 2002 and 2008, he was Co-founder and CEO of Avantica S.r.l., a consulting and software development company focused on innovative services for mobile telephony and network infrastructure management, where he consolidated expertise in managing complex mission critical projects for major clients such as Telecom Italia, H3G, Poste Italiane and Enel Distribuzione.

Innovation, Associations and Digital Culture

From 2015 to 2024, he served as President of CNA Roma Digitale, where he promoted the spread of digital culture and Industry 4.0 framework technologies among manufacturing and artisan companies in the Lazio region. In this role, he designed and coordinated territorial initiatives, digital transformation support programs and networking activities between companies and regional Fab Labs.

He has conducted numerous teaching and outreach activities for executives, entrepreneurs and professionals, addressing topics such as additive manufacturing, collaborative robotics, rapid electronic prototyping and new production models enabled by digital technologies.

Active in the open source and hacker culture of the 1990s, in 2013 he was among the main promoters and supporters of the Italian Maker movement, contributing to the development of the national Fab Lab network.

Academic and Training Activities

As a lecturer, he has been collaborating since 2020 with CNA Sostenibile Viterbo, an accredited training institution, where he teaches courses on Artificial Intelligence, business productivity through AI tools and digital manufacturing processes in professional qualification programs. Between 2016 and 2020, he taught at LUISS Rome in the "Openness & Digital Fabrication" course for bachelor's degrees in Marketing, Economics and Social Sciences.

Research Activities

As part of his professional journey, Stefano Capezzone has been conducting industrial research since 1990 on Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Applied Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing, collaborating with Universities and Research Institutions, appearing as co-author in several internationally recognized publications.

Education and Skills

In 1990, Stefano Capezzone graduated in Electronic Engineering from La Sapienza University of Rome, with a thesis on Artificial Intelligence and training that integrates electronics, computer science, business management and economics.

His main competencies include general management of technology companies, project management of mission critical projects, development of industrial plans and business plans for high-tech companies, capital raising and M&A operations in the ICT sector.
